IISc Young Science Fellowship Programme (YSFP) for Toppers in PUC/12th Standard

INTRODUCTION

Students must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at +2 level. Students must have joined B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. programme in any branch of Science at any College/University in India.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility Criteria Students must have passed PUC/12th Standard or equivalent examination and be a topper (top 20 ranks or equivalent) in his/her Board/University. In cases, where ranks are not declared like CBSE/ICSE, IISc will evolve a suitable criterion. Students must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at +2 level. Students must have joined B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. programme in any branch of Science at any College/University in India.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Candidates studying Medicine/Veterinary Dental/Pharmacy/Engineering are not eligible. During this period, there will be organized lectures, departmental programs, problem solving sessions, visits to labs and visits to other academic institutions and mini-project in one of the areas - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology - chosen by you. The participants are expected to stay on the IISc campus.

PAY PACKAGE

Financial Support IISc will provide: Traveling allowance - equivalent to II Class train fare, from college/residence to IISc and back. Free board and lodging (on a shared basis) at IISc. A grant of Rs 5000 (maximum) or at actuals towards reimbursement of Tuition Fee per annum Book grant of Rs. 1,500/- per annum.
